Design & Construct

How To Use Our Designs

Our aim is to make good design affordable!

A house is much more than a product which you can just pluck off the shelf. However, starting with a preconceived and pre-documented design will take care of much of the design detail you'll need to plan & build with.

Module R Designs provide the ultimate springboard from which to kick-start the journey of building your dream home, office, cabin, studio and much more.

The term ‘Design & Construct’ refers to both a general process as well as a specific form of building contract but speaking in general terms, Module R designs can be used as the basis of the ‘design’ component of your next building project.

A typical Module R customer would be an owner or an owner-builder or even a licensed builder who’s looking for a pre-documented design which can be used as a springboard to expediate the design procurement process.

Module R’s design templates are simply intended to assist our customers save time and money whilst providing high quality designs that can be bought and used for a singular site.

Our documentation represents between 50-70% of all documentation that may be required for a given project. We anticipate that customers can fulfil the remaining 30-50% of design and co-ordination to gain development approvals themselves. Other consultants, such as engineers and energy rating experts will be able to use Module R’s digital design documentation (PDFs) as the basis for their work.

To review an example of our typical documentation that’s available to purchase and download, please refer to our ‘Module R Drawing List’ that will be included with your selected design.

Product Info & FAQs

Product Info

Module R designs are a suite of drawings, presentation imagery and component schedules, limited in scope, purpose and detail. Our designs and their accompanying documentation can be used for various design, planning and documentation tasks. Once you download our drawings you can use them as the basis for your own customisation or you can employ the services of a builder, draftsperson, designer or an architect to complete the package in line with your requirements.

Our design packages do not represent the full suite of documents that may be required to complete your project and as such you may require the expertise of professional consultants, builders and other contractors, manufacturers etc to procure the design detail for Development Approval and ultimately for construction.

Module R provides digital products in the form of PDFs which can be downloaded upon purchase. We’re not a service. However, if you elect to add the option for customisation at time of purchase we will provide some additional services to customise our designs for your project. That customisation is the limitation of our service provision.

Basic component schedules such as electrical fixtures, internal finishes etc may be purchased at additional cost, rather than supplied within the standard Module R documents. (Refer to our example drawings lists).

Licensing

All Module R designs are licensed to The Owner in conjunction with The Property in accordance with street address entered at time of customer’s purchase; By purchasing a Module R product you will be licensed to use that product for a single-use at that specific property. Our designs are an incomplete solution which require a range of additional expertise. Skills of tradespeople and other professionals must be deployed in the certification and construction of any resulting building works.
